The Bel-Red Center for Aesthetic Surgery announces the addition of Dr. Michael Novia to its team of plastic surgeons. Dr. Novia brings an impressive list of credentials and a new procedure option to the clinic.
Dr. Novia is trained in both plastic surgery and otolaryngology, and carries certifications from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He received his training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and had his plastic surgery training at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery. With these credentials, he brings a strong education and high level of surgical skill to the Bel-Red Center for Aesthetic Surgery.
Currently, Dr. Novia is concentrating his practice on the cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries for the breast and body. He recently completed training in fat transfer of the breast, and this is one of the many procedures he will offer at the Bel-Red Center for Aesthetic Surgery When asked about this procedure, Dr. Novia said, "The concept behind fat transfer of the breast is fascinating. We are able to move fat cells from one part of the body through a micro-graft procedure, adding them to another part of the body. This works to add volume or improve contour of the breast by utilizing the body's own tissue."
Bellevue Fat Transfer has several advantages over other contouring procedures. It uses the body's own tissue, limiting risks associated with adding an implant. It also improves the contour of the area of the body where the fat is harvested through liposuction. The surgery is less invasive than implant surgery and can be performed on an outpatient basis.
