/EINPresswire.com/ Dubai, 30th January, 2012: VoiceTrust, a global leader and provider of digital payments and voice biometric solutions announced today that they are delighted to be awarded a Dutch government grant for the roll-out of biometrics based ID services (Proof-of-LifeTM) in Pakistan.

The Private Sector Investment Program (PSI) is a subsidy program of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Development Cooperation that supports innovative investment projects in emerging markets.

VoiceTrust is a global innovator in voice biometrics security and its revolutionary Proof-of-LifeTM program provides safe, secure and cost efficient delivery of various payment services, like secure pension disbursement, that allows pension funds using voice biometrics to ensure that the recipient is still alive and in-country. Recipients do not need to personally visit pension fund locations to authenticate themselves.

Martijn Moonen, PSI, said: "The project was well received by the Committee because the service to be provided are an important step towards delivering banking and financial services to the unbanked population. The reduced transaction costs allow new small businesses to make use of the extensive mobile network in Pakistan. This kind of private sector investment is exactly what PSI is meant for".

Tariq Habib, CEO, VoiceTrust, said "VoiceTrust is honoured to receive the PSI grant and committed to rolling-out Proof-of-LifeTM in Pakistan. Individuals will no longer need to memorize PINs and passwords, they just use their voice to have their identity verified, travelling long distances and waiting in long queues could be a relic of the past."

He further added "VoiceTrust is dedicated to bringing innovative solutions in the digital payments arena directly to benefit the consumer and Proof-of-LifeTM supports organisations and local governments ongoing efforts for financial inclusion."

A PSI project is an investment project, implemented by a Dutch (or foreign) company together with a local company, in one of the eligible developing countries. If this investment meets the criteria, it can be eligible for a grant by PSI. This grant consists of a financial contribution to the costs of the investment.

VoiceTrust is majority owned by Ramphastos Investments, the investment vehicle of Dutch private equity investor Marcel Boekhoorn.
Corné Melissen, VoiceTrust´s interim CFO and spokesman for Ramphastos emphasizes the investor´s long term commitment to VoiceTrust´s current global roll-out.
