Springboard and Gonzaga University Partner to Increase Pathways to High-Growth Tech Careers

SAN FRANCISCO, January 26, 2023 /BUSINESS WIRE/ --

Springboard, an industry-leading online learning platform preparing students for in-demand careers through comprehensive, mentor and instructor-led programs, announces it has partnered with Gonzaga University, a Jesuit liberal arts institution in Spokane, Washington, to deliver two of its bootcamps to students and prospective learners, including Cybersecurity and Software Engineering.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs for information security analysts1 and software developers2 are expected to grow rapidly over the next 10 years. “We want to do all that we can to provide the knowledge and support to meet the surge in demand for talent in these fields,” said Sanam Raza, General Manager of University Partnerships at Springboard. “We look forward to working alongside Gonzaga to help close this skills gap in the tech workforce and share in their commitment to expanding what a 21st century educational institution can do.”

This marks Springboard’s first university partnership of 2023 and its tenth overall. Springboard has established itself as a leading partner for universities looking to expand their offerings to students through asynchronous e-learning with a proven track record of success. Springboard’s unique, cohort-based, human-guided programs combine 1-on-1 mentorship with live and instructor-led sessions.

“This partnership builds on Gonzaga’s mission to create pathways for people who seek contemporary career choices that enhance their professional and personal skillset,” said Dr. Karlene Hoo, Dean of the School of Engineering & Applied Science. “Together with Springboard’s mission of access to high quality personalized online education for all, we are confident that this partnership will achieve life-changing results.”

Springboard’s curriculum is developed by industry experts, and students have access to hands-on support from industry professionals and guidance from career coaches on building a network and landing a job. Individuals who enroll in the courses will gain real-world experience and develop unique portfolios of work.

  • The Cybersecurity Bootcamp students will participate in a 360-hour bootcamp that covers industry fundamentals, systems and network security, vulnerability assessment, and security operations, followed by a capstone project designed to showcase specialized skills to potential employers.
  • The Software Engineering Bootcamp covers key aspects of front-end web development, back-end web development, databases, and data structures and algorithms throughout the software engineering curriculum and includes two capstone projects.

Springboard students in similar programs have received job offers from companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Salesforce and more than 50 percent of the Fortune 100. The programs will be open to the public, and prospective students will not need previous industry or academic experience to enroll. Students who complete the program will receive an official certificate from Gonzaga University.

Enrollment for the Cybersecurity and Software Engineering Bootcamps open today, and classes will begin on March 13, 2023. Prospective learners can learn more or apply at careerbootcamps.gonzaga.edu.
