*Europe is the world's second-largest natural gas market and demand is continuing to rise, particularly as a preferred fuel for power generation. The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates there are about 920 trillion cubic meters of unconventional gas around the world, though only about 35 trillion cubic meters are in Europe. The basins in Europe are generally smaller than what is found in North America and Asia.
