PhillyJunk Helps Close Willow Grove Naval Air Station
/EINPresswire.com/ Bala Cynwyd, PA September 15, 2011 -- PhillyJunk, a local family owned and operated residential and commercial junk removal company, was contracted to help prepare the Willow Grove Naval Air Station, Willow Grove, Pa. for closing. "Our job was to remove everything that has been left and no longer needed by other facilities," states Marty Ingram, President of PhillyJunk, "After 60 years of operation and a bunch of buildings on the campus including several airplane hangars there was a sizable amount of material that needed to be removed. We used a variety of 53' tractor trailers, 40' flat beds trailers and various sized box trucks in the removal along with a work force of twenty (20) guys for several weeks. In the end we removed the long standing naval base signs."
"The project was extensive and utilized all of our commercial division resources at the time," states Ingram. "Most of the buildings had the power off during the removal so it was very hot working conditions in the buildings especially in the heat of the summer. It was bittersweet since I recall watching the Blue Angles air shows many times when they were at the base, states Ingram ." It was one of our larger commercial projects but it came off without a hitch.
PhillyJunk operates residential and commercial junk removal cleanouts from Philadelphia to Washington, DC area. During the removal process we evaluate all items in efforts to recycle or donate unwanted items. Our goal is to donate as much as possible after a cleanout job. We are pleased that we can continually turn other peoples and businesses unwanted material into something useful one way or another. If something cannot be donated, we take items to an environmentally friendly transfer station to recycle. We want to make sure that we are doing our part to give back."
