Deepak Suri Brings Experience from Blue Chip Healthcare Companies Managing Back Office, Consumer-Facing and Innovation Projects
Baltimore, Maryland, April 23, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ArmadaHealth®, a leading provider of healthcare quality transparency solutions, announced today that Deepak Suri is joining the ArmadaHealth management team as Chief Information Officer. He brings end-to-end experience managing the spectrum of technology within a healthcare company. Along with administrative and consumer-facing technology, Suri will oversee the expansion of ArmadaHealth’s Systematic Intelligent Evidence-Based Navigation Assistant (S.I.E.N.A.℠), an AI-enabled platform that provides state-of-the-art physician-patient services.
Suri brings to ArmadaHealth over two decades of healthcare and technology experience. He most recently served as Vice President, Corporate Systems & Enterprise Programs at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield in Maryland, where he led an organization of geographically dispersed personnel to build and operate digital systems that supported CareFirst’s corporate and core business functions. He was also responsible for leveraging his entrepreneurial skills to build, scale and successfully deliver several large, complex and high risk/reward business and technology transformation programs impacting many parts of the healthcare value chain.
Prior to CareFirst, as the Senior Director of IT at UnitedHealth Group, Suri was responsible for all functions related to the Policy Administration Platform for the division that provides Medicare Supplement plans to almost four million AARP members nationally. His earlier experience includes leading enrollment, billing and customer service technology functions at UnitedHealthcare of the Northeast, and at Oxford Health Plans, which grew from a startup to a multi-billion dollar entity. He was also the co-founder of a medical services company in the late 1990s.
Suri is a member of the Society for Information Management, Technology Business Management (TBM) Council and serves on the board of the American Heart Association (Greater Baltimore). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Anna University in India and his Executive MBA from Pennsylvania State University.
