Brain Cancer and Cell Phones - A Personal Account of a Psychologist's Battle with Glioblastoma
/EINPresswire.com/ Herman Lowe, who has been battling brain cancer for over two years, has written a free online book about his journey and what he has done to try to help others with this deadly disease. Lowe, a semi-retired clinical psychologist, explains in the book why he is convinced that the use of cell phones has played a significant role in his contracting brain cancer.
Herman Lowe, who has been battling terminal brain cancer, Glioblastoma, for over two years, has written a free online book, "Brain Cancer: Beating the Odds" about his journey and what he has done to try to help others with this deadly disease. Lowe, a semi-retired clinical psychologist, explains in the book why he is convinced that the use of cell phones has played a significant role in his contracting brain cancer. While he knows that scientific evidence for the link between cell phones and cancer has not reached a level of certainty, he felt vindicated when the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a recent warning about the potential link between them.
While the scientists continue to explore whether cell phones cause cancer, Lowe preaches that it is "better to be safe than sorry." After his diagnosis with brain cancer, he set about reducing his own exposure to cell phone radiation by simply stopping using one, and encouraging others to use them more responsibly. His wife, Mercia Tapping, CEO/President of AllergyBuyersClub.com, also thought that she could provide for her husband with a healthy home environment which just might prolong his life. On June 2nd, 2011 the couple celebrated that Lowe had survived 2 years since his diagnosis, which puts him in the 20% of patients for survival rate. Only 5% reach the 3 year mark. As Lowe puts it, "I felt I had to help myself beyond the excellent conventional treatment I have been receiving at Dana Farber Hospital in Boston."
Lowe knows that no one can fully understand why so far he has been lucky enough to beat the odds. But he felt he should write a book about his journey, and what he has done to prolong his life, just in case someone wants to follow in his footsteps.
His online book is available online in downloadable format at http://www.allergybuyersclub.com/press/brain-cancer-and-cell-phones.html. Lowe hopes that those people who read his book will make a donation to Dana Farber where a Herman Lowe Fund has been set up in his name.
