Gazpromneft-Aero and S7 integrate electronic data management (EDM) systems in line with IATA standards
Gazpromneft-Aero, operator of the Gazprom Neft aviation refuelling business, and air carrier Sibir (S7) are the first companies in Russia to combine capabilities for electronic document management (EDM) in line with International Air Transport Association (IATA) standards.
Gazpromneft-Aero specialists are members of the IATA Fuel Data Standards Group (IATA FDSG) developing digital standards in aviation refuelling. New electronic formats are making possible significant reductions in man hours, as well as speeding up document flow thanks to aviation refuelling support operations being undertaken online, in real time.
Pursuant to Russian legislation, electronic documentation — including the universal transfer document and IATA invoice, both used worldwide — can be signed by digital signatures and transferred through EDM systems. On that basis, airlines have the opportunity to receive information in a universal format from both Russian and international fuel suppliers. The IATA-standard digital invoice allows aviation companies to allocate costs for individual flights, planes, airports, fuel and services.
The introduction of modern information systems and common data interchange formats in the aviation industry facilitates to increase competitiveness, reduce costs, speed up airlines’ and suppliers’ responses to market conditions, and allow customers to be offered new services, as well as opportunities for managing refuelling operations at hundreds of airports“
