Aviation News: Tunisair to Optimize Flight Deck Operations with Jeppesen Aviator Services

Englewood, Colo. | 12 Feb 2018 | By Boeing

Boeing [NYSE: BA], through its subsidiary Jeppesen, today announced that Tunisair, the national carrier of Tunisia, has signed an agreement to integrate Jeppesen Aviator services on iPad into its flight operations. Jeppesen Aviator integrates typically independent electronic flight bag (EFB) features into a single point of access that reduces pilot time spent with data entry and accessing individual apps.

“We look forward to using the tools provided by Jeppesen Aviator to simplify data access on the ground and in the air, as the flight operations environment continues to become more complex, with multiple data sources to manage,” said Captain Imed Harzallah, Flight Operations engineering director and Boeing 737 Captain TRE/TRI, Tunisair. “Our pilots will appreciate the one-stop approach provided by Aviator, which eliminates the need for jumping between multiple apps, as all essential EFB data is available through a single access point.”

Jeppesen Aviator was developed jointly by Jeppesen and Boeing and shares data between EFB functions to streamline workflows, reduce pilot head-down time and eliminate human errors. Aviator combines Jeppesen’s industry-leading FliteDeck Pro EFB solution in a single framework with other essential flight operations systems, including Jeppesen Content Viewer, Electronic Flight Folder, Onboard Performance Tool and Software Development Kit capabilities to increase operational efficiency.

“We are pleased to team with Tunisair to provide the foundation for enhancing their pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight operations through Jeppesen Aviator services,” said Karim Freund, Flight Operations sales director, Boeing Global Services. “This next-generation solution continues the progression airlines are making, first by transitioning to a fully digital operating environment and now enhancing the EFB experience through a unified presentation of data and information.”
