ARLINGTON, VA, USA, January 3, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- According to the “Project Management Job Growth and Talent Gap 2017-2027” report published by the Project Management Institute (PMI) in May 2017, nearly 22 million new project management jobs will be added through 2027, a growth of 33%. This rate of growth is faster than that of the average job growth outlook of 22%, published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics for 2016-2026. Project managers also command highly competitive salaries. As of November 2017, the median annual entry level project manager salary is around $70,000.

The University of Management and Technology is proud to announce that they are ranked #7 as one of the top 10 schools that provide online master’s degrees in project management. (SR Education Group, https://www.guidetoonlineschools.com/degrees/project-management#masters-certification). Each master’s program is accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is ranked by the number of professional development units (PDUs) it satisfies. PDUs are required for individuals to maintain project management certification through the PMI, and are used by the institute to measure relevance of project management courses.

UMT has been a key player in project management education since its founding in 1998. Its faculty members are leaders in the project management education arena, having educated more than 30,000 managers in this field.

UMT is one of the first universities to offer a project management program for their students, many of whom have gone on to accomplish their professional and career goals. One such student, Jaqueline H., a mother of two with a full-time career, saw an opportunity with UMT’s flexible online structure and enrolled in the program where she eventually graduated with an outstanding 3.9 GPA. Within months she was able to pass the PMP project management certification exam and went on to work in a hospital, tackling challenging projects with the skills developed at UMT. She says that her UMT master’s helped revitalize her career, motivating her to take advantage of educational, professional, and certification opportunities available online today.

Currently, UMT offers the following degrees in project management:
• MBA, with a focus in project management
• MS in Management, with a focus in project and acquisition management
• MS in Information Technology, with a focus in project management
• Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), where students can orient their work toward project management

UMT also offers a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) for students who prefer to focus more heavily in public sector management.

All UMT courses are offered online, delivering convenience and flexibility. They are self-paced which allows students to work through a semester at whatever speed they favor. Students who are eager to complete their degrees quickly can work diligently to meet course requirements in a matter of a few weeks, while those balancing responsibilities at home and on the job can take a more relaxed approach, using the full semester to complete their courses. Each student is assigned a student portal that provides them with one-stop shopping in handling their programs. Through their portals, they can register for courses, review their transcripts, pay their bills, access their courses, submit assignments, take exams, interact with fellow students through forum discussions, access the e-library, and more.

To make sure students have the guidance they need to make good choices in designing their programs, they work closely with counselors who help them put together Individual Learning Plans geared to addressing their skills, desires, and career goals.
