The study evaluates four databases from PhysioNet and applies the ANSI/AAMI EC57:2012 to evaluate the algorithms for the detection of supraventricular ectopic beat (SVEB, known as APC), ventricular ectopic beat (VEB, Known as VPC), atrial fibrillation (AF), and ventricular fibrillation (VF) via the evaluation of the sensitivity, positive predictive value and false positive rate. The achieved results show that the proposed integrated SVEB, VEB, AF, and VF detection algorithm can achieve good accuracy of greater than 80% in comparison with other previous studies. The optimized algorithm can reduce the need of the computing loading of the Microprocessor Control Unit (MCU) and make it possible to evaluate arrhythmia only via tiny wearable electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring device.
