EPICAN Gets Jamaica's First License To Commercially Cultivate Medical Marijuana

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, October 26, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- EPICAN has been granted the first commercial cultivation License ever issued in the history of Jamaica.The License was granted by The Jamaican Government's Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA) on June 1,2017 and the completion of the internal security process enabled the license to be issued on October 18,2017.

The License allows EPICAN to begin its grow operations at its 43,000. SQFT cultivation Facility in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica.

EPICAN in addition to the cultivation license has also been issued a Conditional License for 3 other categories (Processing, Retail & Research And Development). EPICAN anticipates the final approval and issuance of those license in the near future. Once received EPICAN will implement its vertical integrated operations at its 5000 sqft Processing facility, where they will be producing both high and low THC Based Cannabis Extracts. EPICAN intends to open several retail locations throughout the island making products available for locals and tourists consumption as well as international export.

EPICAN has submitted products to Jamaica's Ministry Of Health for registration and awaits approval from the Medicinal Cannabis Unit MCU).
