IEEE Approves Certified Optical Network Associate (CONA) for Its Certificate Program

IEEE certification guarantees that CONA meets IEEE stringent standards, and provides relevant content required by optical networking professionals

JOHANNESBURG, GAUTENG, SOUTH AFRICA, October 9, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- FiberGuide announced today that the Certified Optical Network Associate (CONA) training it offers has been approved for certification by IEEE. CONA was approved by IEEE along with other fiber optic training courses – CONE, COFI and CFCE – developed by OTT. This development means that all trainees who successfully complete the CONA training program will be eligible to receive IEEE certificates in addition to the usual OTT certification.

As the world’s largest technical professional organization, IEEE brings together some of the best and brightest professionals in engineering. IEEE certification guarantees that the CONA training program meets IEEE stringent standards, and provides some of the most relevant content that optical networking professionals need to meet the challenges of the ever-evolving communication technologies.

Those planning to attend the already scheduled CONA training session in Johannesburg, South Africa, in November are advised to complete their course registration process by Friday, October 13, to be registered for the IEEE certificate program. Please visit the CONA page at https://goo.gl/mJhEgc for course registration details. Any questions should be sent to info@fiberguide.net.

About CONA
CONA is one of several courses developed by UK based Optical Technology Training (OTT) and delivered throughout the world by a network of training partners. The intensive 5-day course covers many optical networking topics ranging from the fundamentals of light to advanced topics in transmission systems. After the successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to plan, design and implement efficient and cost effective optical networks that meet today’s and future bandwidth requirements.
Detailed information can be obtained by downloading the CONA brochure.

Attendee evaluation is based on an in-class assignment and an examination. Successful candidates receive certification from OTT and IEEE and will have the option to take a more advanced optical networking course.

IT and telecommunication professionals involved with the planning, designing, implementation and operation of the following types of networks will benefit the most from the training:
• National backbones or long-haul networks
• Metropolitan networks
• Fiber to the antenna (FTTA)
• Data center interconnects (DCI)
• Enterprise wide area networks (WANs)

About IEEE
IEEE is the largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. Through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities, IEEE is the trusted voice in a wide variety of areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers, and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power, and consumer electronics.

Some of the standards covered in the CONA training course are developed by IEEE.
