LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA, August 21, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Yuliya had already won a REC film festival with her previous short film, The Night On The Eve Of Ivana Kupala, which has a unique style and roots to Ukrainian poet movie. Now Yuliya is looking forward to conquer multiple film festivals with her new film. We met with Yuliya to talk about her new experience making movies in Hollywood.

WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO LOS ANGELES?
The atmosphere of Los Angeles is what brought me here. It is not a secret all filmmakers from different countries dream to come to Hollywood and shoot here. After participating in film festivals in both sides, as a contester/winner and as a member of the jury, I asked myself what I want next? The answer was I want to shoot my next project in Hollywood. So here I am.

YOUR NEW SHORT FILM IS CALLED THE VICISSITUDES. WHAT IS THE STORY ABOUT AND UNIQUE ASPECTS IN IT?
It is a story about a mentally unstable ex-beauty queen, Helena, who spends her days reliving her past in an insane asylum. She tries to fix her mistakes, which include an abortion and a murder.
I have chosen this idea to depict a story that happened in real life. I used to be a model and winner of beauty pageants (Yuliya represented Ukraine in Miss International in 2006 in Beijing) so I witnessed many sad stories from models after retiring. Many of them are not able to overcome the fact that they are not models anymore and they should move on and do something else in their lives. In my opinion, that is the main reason why models are lost after they are done with modeling (I am not talking about top models, it is about just average models).
My goal is to picture a present way problems. It is not a secret that many modern girls have tendencies and interest only in money. They don't intend to have something meaningful in their lives. I depict a story about how destiny can punish a person for being so carefree and selfish.

DO YOU INTEND TO SHOOT A FEATURE-LENTH FILM?
Of course, I have a few stories that I really would like to shoot. The Vicissitudes is a movie for women, but the other ideas are big historical dramas. I have already started pitching them, so when my time comes I will be ready to just immerse myself deep into production. I believe in destiny and I know my destiny is filmmaking, telling the stories.
