Founded in 2010, HavServe is a public, non-profit organization led by an international network of volunteers from a variety of unique backgrounds. Their mission is to promote educational programs, social development and economic growth to young members of under-resourced areas in Haiti and in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area through a number of in-person and remote-based initiatives.

In Haiti, HavServe partners with small, under-resourced rural communities in the southwest of the country to foster conditions that support basic education, and that implement sustainable social and economic development solutions to address the needs of children and their families. This July, the organization will host its Annual Summer Camp and Educational Enrichment Program, where 500 children will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills from literacy and numeracy to leadership and community development.

In Washington D.C., HavServe has a Youth and Family Services Program that works to ensure disadvantaged youth and their families receive the positive interventions needed at critical junctures in their lives, with the overall goal of stimulating inter-generational improvements and creating lasting societal change in the United States.

About the HavServe Youth Mentoring Program
Based in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area, the Youth Mentoring Program focuses primarily on teens from immigrant families who are adjusting to life in the U.S. while facing challenges such as low academic achievement, language barriers, and isolation from the broader community. Trained HavServe volunteer mentors service this demographic to provide a broad range of comprehensive training programs, including support for successful transition to adulthood, cultural adjustment and community integration, as well as opportunities for leadership development and volunteering/community service that build self-esteem, resilience, and promote social and civic responsibility.

About HavServe:
Our mission is to connect individuals, volunteers, institutions, businesses, and communities to serve and to change lives through volunteerism and lasting partnerships. Our vision is that through the power of volunteerism and community-led or supported program activities, communities will be inspired, motivated and equipped to act on their own behalf to improve their lives and those of their children and families.
