Gazprom Export and Srbijagas sign Memorandum to expand Banatski Dvor UGS facility

Background

State-owned Srbijagas is focused on gas transportation, storage and distribution in Serbia.

Serbia's Banatski Dvor UGS facility (Gazprom – 51 per cent, Srbijagas – 49 per cent) has the maximum gas deliverability of 5 million cubic meters per day.

In 2015, Gazprom and Srbijagas signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which reflects the parties' intent to consider the possible ways of promoting cooperation in the areas of underground gas storage, use of gas as a vehicle fuel, and small-scale LNG, including as part of scientific & technical cooperation. Pursuant to the Memorandum, the parties agreed to address the possibility of expanding the Banatski Dvor UGS facility.

In 2016, Gazprom delivered 1.75 billion cubic meters of gas to Serbia, which was 4.3 per cent more than in 2015.
