HYATT REGENCY INDIANAPOLIS ANNOUNCES 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY PROGRAM

Hotel Management committed to Reduction in Carbon Consumption

Indianapolis, IN, May 17, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hyatt Regency Indianapolis announced today a unique new program with their partner, Indianapolis Power & Light, (IPL) to power their 499-room hotel with 100% renewable wind energy starting May 1st. Going forward, 100% of the hotel’s electrical needs will be generated by this environmentally friendly renewable resource.  As referenced on the IPL website, “Participation in this program helps support the development of renewable energy sources, which will in turn eventually help reduce our reliance on fossil-fueled power.”  This reduction in carbon consumption will be the equivalent of reducing the C02 emissions of almost 500 average homes each year or 9 million lbs. of C02.

“Renewable energy models are taking center stage and we’re proud to be a part of such a positive and impactful program,” said Joe Pinto, Hyatt Regency Indianapolis General Manager. “Renewable energy projects are one of the single biggest strides a company can make and our team at the Hyatt Regency embraces this project.”
