IT Governance announces updated version of its PCI DSS staff awareness e-learning course
The new PCI DSS v3.2 staff awareness e-learning course is designed to increase employees’ awareness of PCI DSS requirements and the Standard’s impact on daily business activities.
Every organisation that processes, transmits or stores payment card data must comply with the PCI DSS, and failure to comply with its requirements can result in heavy fines and security vulnerabilities.
Alan Calder, the founder and chief executive officer of IT Governance, said: “The new version of the PCI DSS staff awareness e-learning course provides a systematic, consistent and repeatable approach to training new and existing employees. The course is designed to help organisations reduce data breaches caused by human error, and automatically records which staff have completed it to help you effortlessly monitor your PCI DSS compliance status.”
The e-learning course content includes an introduction to the PCI DSS, the definitions required to understand the Standard’s requirements, and an explanation of cardholder account data and sensitive authentication data. The course also covers the PCI DSS requirements and various PCI DSS application scenarios to test the learner’s understanding of the Standard.
People who take the 45-minute e-learning course are presented with a test, which comprises 20 random questions (from a bank of 36) and has a pass mark of 75%. Upon completing the course, employees are awarded a printable certificate.
