Gazprom Neft launches PROneft trade magazine

Gazprom Neft has announced the launch of a new scientific and technical trade magazine, PROneft: Oil for Professionals, publishing articles by company employees on current issues in exploration and production.

Publishing its own trade magazine is just one part of the ongoing development of a culture of innovation within the company, as well as an opportunity to discuss and share lessons learned, and a further channel for keeping business partners informed about Gazprom Neft’s objectives and requirements in terms of technology. Editorial will be managed by the Gazprom Neft Joint Scientific Research Centre, with the magazine expected to be published quarterly. The magazine’s target audience will include not just company employees but the scientific community, technology partners of Gazprom Neft, and specialist higher educational establishments. An electronic version will be made available on the Gazprom Neft Joint Scientific and Research Centre website.

The first issue covers 2D and 3D technologies in the modelling of hydrocarbon systems to improve efficiency in geological prospecting, including at the Bazhenov Formation; cost evaluation in hydraulic fracking, based on the economic value of such information; the assessment of infrastructure costs using cutting-edge mathematical algorithms, and more. Methodologies, technologies and approaches already being implemented by Gazprom Neft in developing new fields and increasing production efficiency are also covered.
