IT Governance achieves ELCAS accreditation for its Certified EU GDPR Foundation and Practitioner training courses

ELY, CAMBRIDGESHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM, December 9, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- IT Governance, the leading provider of data protection and information security training courses, is delighted to announce that its Certified EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Foundation and Practitioner classroom training courses are now ELCAS accredited.

As an approved provider for the Ministry of Defence’s Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) Scheme, a selection of IT Governance’s training courses are now available to those who serve in or are planning to leave the armed forces, and who wish to gain the knowledge and skills to implement information security, service management standards and compliance with the GDPR.

The ELC Scheme provides MOD service personnel with financial support for training that enhances their current or prospective careers. The support takes the form of an annual payment for a period of up to three years.

Alan Calder, the founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, said: “We are delighted to be uniquely positioned to provide courses with an ELCAS accreditation. Our practical and hands-on approach, delivered by IT Governance’s experts, ensure delegates achieve the skills required to support a career and are awarded industry-standard certifications in information security, the GDPR, service management and business continuity.”

Certified and accredited qualifications are becoming an essential requirement for individuals pursuing a career in information security and data protection. With the GDPR taking effect from May 2018, it has been estimated that 75,000 data protection officers (DPOs) need to be recruited. There is an ever-increasing demand for information security and GDPR-qualified staff.

Service leavers who wish to acquire practical knowledge and skills to enhance their prospects are encouraged to take advantage of IT Governance’s ELCAS-accredited information security and Certified EU GDPR Foundation and Practitioner classroom training courses.

The Certified EU GDPR Practitioner classroom training course is designed to equip delegates with a comprehensive understanding of the GDPR so that they can fulfil the role of DPO. The one-day Certified EU GDPR Foundation training course is a prerequisite to the four-day Certified EU GDPR Practitioner training course. Delegates can sit both training courses back-to-back or in consecutive weeks.

IT Governance supports career development. Delegates who pass the examinations associated with IT Governance’s training courses are awarded ISO 170240-accredited qualifications by examination bodies including IBITGQ, APMG International and EXIN.
