Today through tomorrow, Columbia University graduate workers will vote on forming their union. Union organizers got a big boost today when none other than U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders wrote a letter encouraging fellow graduate workers to come together, participate in the vote and join the UAW.

Dear Columbia University Research and Teaching Assistants:

I understand that on December 7th and 8th you will be voting in an election to determine whether TAs and RAs at Columbia will have the right to union representation.
