LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, December 6, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Bestselling author Michael Lewis kicks off a new year at Live Talk Los Angeles on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, 8pm, when he will be interviewed by Mindy Kaling about his new book "The Undoing Project: A Friendship That Changed Our Minds." Lewis’ best-known work includes "Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt," "The Big Short," "The Blind Side," "Liar’s Poker" and "Moneyball. "

Both Lewis and Kaling have previously appeared at Live Talks Los Angeles. Lewis talked about "Flash Boys" with Malcolm Gladwell in 2014, while Kaling discussed her book "Why Not Me" at Live Talks Los Angeles last year.

"We're looking forward to starting 2017 with Michael Lewis in conversation with Mindy Kaling,” says Ted Habte-Gabr, founder and producer of Live Talks Los Angeles. “We love it when roles get reversed, and someone like Mindy Kaling returns to our stage as the interviewer.” Kaling says, "I love my brilliant friend Michael Lewis. As his mentor, I'm excited to talk to him about his new book."

In "The Undoing Project: A Friendship That Changed Our Minds" (W. W. Norton & Company, December 6, 2016), Lewis brings his narrative gift to the fascinating collaboration between Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky, whose Nobel Prize-winning theory of the mind altered our perception of reality. This team showed the ways in which the human mind errs, systematically, when forced to make judgments about uncertain situations. By undoing our assumptions about the decision-making process, the pair’s breathtaking work created the field of behavioral economics, advanced evidence-based medicine, led to a new approach to government regulation, and made possible much of Lewis’s own writing, on topics from business to baseball.

Mindy Kaling is an actor, writer, producer, and director. She currently stars in the Hulu original comedy series “The Mindy Project," which she also writes and executive produces. Prior to "The Mindy Project," Mindy was best known for her work on the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning NBC show “The Office.” In addition to directing, producing, and portraying celebrity-obsessed Kelly Kapoor, Mindy wrote 18 episodes of the series, including the Emmy nominated episode “Niagra.”
