SOLV Named a Top Global Solar O&M Provider by GTM Research

/EINPresswire.com/ -- SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - November 30, 2016) - SOLV®, a division of Swinerton Renewable Energy, has been named the #1 Affiliated Service Provider (ASP) in the global operations & maintenance (O&M) market according to a new report by GTM Research and SoliChamba Consulting.

In their report, Global Megawatt-Scale PV O&M and Asset Management 2016-2021, GTM Research and SoliChamba analyzed 66 companies across 14 markets, segmenting O&M vendors into six categories: Independent Service Providers (ISPs); Affiliated Service Providers; Developers, EPCs, integrated firms; Financial investors, funds, yieldcos; IPPs and utilities; and Inverter OEMs. The report is further segmented geographically, classifying vendors as either local or global providers.

SOLV currently manages 3.25 GW of PV assets and is ranked #2 among O&M vendors globally in any category (outside of China) and #1 in the ASP category. In the report, SOLV is classified as a local provider that focuses on megawatt PV assets in the United States. In 2016, SOLV recorded the greatest total growth, adding 1.25 GW of PV assets to its total fleet. Only one company, which diversifies its portfolio across multiple continents, currently operates a larger total fleet than SOLV.

SOLV provides O&M services to both affiliated and third-party plants as a division of utility-scale solar EPC, Swinerton Renewable Energy (SRE). SOLV was developed to provide a comprehensive solution to SRE's existing renewable energy clients, but quickly evolved into a nationally-recognized O&M provider for externally-built plants in addition to those constructed by SRE. Today SOLV's portfolio consists of over 50 percent of third-party PV assets.

"As an affiliated O&M service provider, SOLV is in the unique position to offer customers of third party-built PV sites the same level of service as our internal clients, accessing and utilizing data which provides efficiencies that drive down price and maximize revenue," said Reegan Moen, Business Development Manager for SOLV. "Our soon-to-be operating medium-impact, NERC-compliant NOC will offer 24/7 monitoring for wind and solar sites, ever expanding our capabilities."

According to the report, the global O&M market will reach 182 GW by the end of 2016, up from 133 GW in 2015. This growth represents a 54 percent increase in deployments over last year, driven by larger plant sizes in new construction markets like the U.S. Looking ahead, the report estimates that the global market for O&M services will reach 439 GW by the end of 2021.
