Detroit, MI.

Legendary motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson has joined the National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) as a sponsor, helping to support our Service Disabled/Veteran-owned Businesses (SD/VOBs) in their efforts to grow. Harley-Davidson is no stranger to supporting the military.

"We at the NVBDC are absolutely thrilled to welcome Harley-Davidson as a sponsor," said Keith King, President of the NVBDC. "Not only is this sponsorship of immense practical value to our organization; the Harley-Davidson brand itself is emblematic of the courage and commitment of our veterans - and these qualities are evident in the commitment they have to making their businesses successful.

Since 1916, Harley-Davidson has been providing its outstanding motorcycles to the U.S. military. Contributing thousands of vehicles in World War I, and over 60,000 in World War II, the company worked hand in glove with the military through the Persian Gulf War and beyond.

Harley-Davidson is the Official Motorcycle Sponsor of Rolling Thunder, the annual Ride to the Wall in Washington, DC held on Memorial Day weekend. The event is intended to call for the government's recognition and protection of Prisoners of War (POWs) and those Missing in Action (MIAs). This tribute to American war heroes began in 1988 with 2,500 riders. Today some 900,000 participants and spectators attend.
"The NVBDC is grateful for the participation of Harley-Davidson in our commitment to supporting veteran enterprises," King said, "and we look forward to a long and productive relationship with them well into the future."
