PUEBLO WEST, COLO., UNITED STATES, November 8, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- PUEBLO WEST, Colo. – Author and Doctor Karen Colvin develops courage, faith and hope among book aficionados in her spiritual novel, “Leaving Babylon: Unmasking the Great Prostitute.”

“Leaving Babylon” tells of a spiritual journey in facing the human condition both as an individual and as a member of a race of beings who are in desperate need of rescue. This book explores the reality of a way of life that engulfs all humanity, which has left us afraid of the truth of our current existence.

“My inspiration for writing this book was mostly what I faced in my own struggles in understanding the human condition and the meaning of life as we know it. What I learned I believe would help many others who are also struggling. There are answers that explain our life on Earth - true answers that make sense if we have the courage to face them. The more I explored this concept of Babylon as a way of life that plagues our planet, the more it became evident to me that humankind hides rather than face the truth. This book was a work that took close to 15 years to write as some research takes the time to play out before it can be recorded,” shares Dr. Colvin, when asked about the inspiration behind his book.

“Readers love the book and embrace it as an encouragement on their journey. Some have even asked about a workbook based on the book,” states Stacy Baker, Acquisitions Editor for Tate Publishing.

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Inspired to write for many years, Dr. Colvin has begun collecting notes on her Scriptural studies over 30 years ago. Through many good and difficult times, she works on formulating her writings into books that led to her first book, “Sessions in Pain” and second book, “Leaving Babylon.”

Founder and director of a center for autism in Colorado, Dr. Colvin is a mother of two adult children, Kristen and Matthew. Her son, Matthew, was diagnosed with autism at 3 years old. This diagnosis led Dr. Colvin to a major decision to leave her medical practice and start a learning center for children and adults with autism. The center has blessed hundreds of families in Colorado and has become a premier service agency in this region.

Dr. Colvin’s daughter, Kristen, has grown into an inspirational artist, writer and musician who has completed a Master’s Degree in creative writing. She is pursuing a career in this field.

Throughout her undergraduate and medical school education, Dr. Colvin was an avid studier of the bible. She grew up attending church regularly and always had an interest in the message of the Holy Scriptures. Her heart was always seeking truthful concepts in the Word of God which applied to human history and our current world.
