Intermountain Healthcare Caregivers and Hospitals Honored for Leadership and Quality Performance

14 Intermountain hospitals receive 2016 HealthInsight Hospital Quality Award

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, USA, October 25, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Intermountain Healthcare board members, caregivers and hospitals were recently honored at the Utah Hospital Association’s (UHA) annual awards ceremony for their leadership contributions and hospital quality outcomes.

Awards were presented by UHA, HealthInsight, and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

The UHA Trustee Service Award is given to two nominated individuals – one in an urban area and one in a rural area – who have made vital impacts to hospitals and communities in Utah. UHA provides member services for Utah’s many healthcare provider organizations throughout the communities in Utah.

Following are UHA’s award recipients from Intermountain:

• F. Ann Millner, EdD, received the UHA Trustee Service Award (urban category). Dr. Millner is a Utah State Senator, former president of Weber State University, and current member of the Intermountain Board of Trustees.

• Robert Hicken was presented with the UHA Trustee Service Award (rural category) as well. Mr. Hicken is a business owner in the Heber Valley area, Board member at Heber Valley Hospital, and past chair of the Governing Board of that hospital.

• Dr. Linda Leckman, CEO of Intermountain Medical Group, vice president of Intermountain Healthcare, and Intermountain Board member, received the UHA Distinguished Service to Healthcare Award that spotlights her career in healthcare.

In addition, Kevin Brooks, FACHE, administrator of Intermountain Utah Valley Hospital, received the ACHE Regents Award for outstanding senior leadership from the Utah Healthcare Executives, which is the Utah chapter of ACHE.

As part of the same event, 14 Intermountain hospitals received the 2016 HealthInsight Hospital Quality Award. HealthInsight is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving health and healthcare through analysis of a range of hospital quality measures. The awards are based on hospital performance in several areas and departments. The scores are weighted among hospitals nationally. Hospitals at or above the 75th percentile nationally receive the award.
