ORLANDO, Florida, October 21, 2016 – Once again, iSidewith.com did what the Commission on Presidential Debates refuses to do: open the debates to all candidates with a pathway to 270 electoral votes. iSideWith ran a livestream forum in parallel with this week’s Presidential Debate, and multiple candidates joined in the discussion.

“Rocky” Roque De La Fuente, an independent candidate and also the nominee of both the Reform Party and the American Delta Party, dominated the evening. As he did in the prior Town Hall on October 9th, De La Fuente answered virtually every question that was asked. He quipped, “And that was without even having been given the questions in advance,” in an obvious reference to Hillary Clinton.

Meanwhile, Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate, joined the discussion sporadically and Dr. Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, limited her answers to those issues that were in specific alignment with the relatively narrow focus of her party.

Although Darrell Castle, the Conservative Party candidate, and Evan McMullin, an independent candidate, participated in a limited fashion, they effectively canceled each other when they chose to engage. Castle routinely agreed with the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, while McMullin disagreed with Trump at almost every turn. Even though McMullin is an establishment conservative, he apparently attacked Trump in attempt to solidify his base in Utah where the Mormon vote is beginning to grow in his favor.

Zoltan Istvan, the transhumanist candidate, offered a few comments. However, most were directed at his disappointment that the issues of science and technology were not at the forefront of the evening’s questioning.

As author Darcy Richardson suggested in his article, Thanks to Innovative Nonpartisan Website, Rocky De La Fuente Emerges as Winner of the Final Trump-Clinton Debate, De La Fuente carried the livestream debate by interspersing humor along with his more serious and detailed answers. While Clinton and Trump deflected questions and tried to pivot to other issues that better fit their narratives, De La Fuente answered the questions directly.

He also found time to playfully kid some of his fellow opponents. As an example, when the issue of Syria was raised, he teased Gary Johnson about how lucky he was that the question had not been directed at him. Of course, Johnson is best known for his “Aleppo” moment when he did not recognize the name of the Syrian city.
