IT Governance launches new series of Certified GDPR training courses in Dublin, Ireland

The one-day Certified General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Foundation training course provides a basic understanding of the Regulation. The course covers the essential GDPR background and terminology, discusses changes in policies and procedures, data subjects’ rights and requesting access, marketing requirements, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), requirements for reporting data breaches, international data transfers, and compliance with the GDPR.
“As the GDPR mandates considerably stricter penalties than the Data Protection Act for data breaches, organisations have no choice but to comply with the Regulation. Our Certified GDPR Foundation and Practitioner training courses can help organisations meet the GDPR’s requirements and train individuals to fulfil the role of data protection officer,” Alan Calder continued.
The Certified General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Practitioner training course, taking place over the course of four days, enables individuals to fulfil the role of data protection officer (DPO) under the GDPR. The course covers the GDPR in depth, its implementation requirements, the policies and processes required for compliance, and the elements of effective data security management.
The GDPR Foundation and Practitioner training courses are aimed at data protection and information security professionals, and individuals who lack the data protection expertise and experience but wish to get involved in GDPR compliance projects, achieve a qualification in data protection and fulfil the role of DPO.
IT Governance’s training courses support professional development: upon completing each of the GDPR training courses, delegates are required to sit a 60-minute IBITGQ-accredited exam. Delegates who pass the exam are awarded the GDPR Foundation (EU GDPR F) or GDPR Practitioner (EU GDPR P) qualifications, which proves that they have obtained a solid understanding of the Regulation.
