OVERLAND PARK, KS--(Marketwired - October 12, 2016) - The second annual LockPath Ready Summit (LPRS) has come to a close in Kansas City, Mo., bringing together professionals and experts from the governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) and information security industry. With attendees from across the nation, LPRS served as a platform for knowledge share and networking among Keylight Platform customers.

The summit, which was held Oct. 4-5 in Kansas City, Mo., featured a keynote speaker, more than 30 engaging sessions, as well as sponsored exhibits and networking events. Topics explored included cybersecurity, third-party risk management, HIPAA compliance, ISO 27001 certification and more.

"LPRS allowed our customers to share ideas on GRC programs and to learn how others are using Keylight," said LockPath CEO Chris Caldwell. "I look forward to the positive impact these discussions will have on our company and customers moving forward."

Key highlights from LPRS 2016 included the following:

  • An opening keynote by former FBI agent Jeff Lanza stressed the importance of layers of security, as well as the role of human error in cybercrime.
  • A panel discussion called "Hot Topics in GRC" emphasized the increasing enforcement of regulations like the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, as well as the growing need for effective third-party risk management.
  • Some of the most popular sessions were "Using Keylight for ISO 27001 Certification" by LockPath CTO Chris Goodwin and "Using Keylight to Implement a Custom Controls Framework based on NIST SP 800-53 and ISO 27001" by OpenMarket CISO Jeff Lowder, which demonstrated the many use cases for the Keylight Platform.

"LPRS has been a really positive experience," said Robin Craib, Information Security and Risk Manager at Cushman & Wakefield. "It was valuable for sharing tips and insights with other professionals and for making contacts in the industry."

Attendees of the summit had three tracks to choose from: new user, customer use cases and subject matter expert presentations.

"LPRS has been very interesting in terms of how other organizations are using Keylight," said Franette Gutkowski, Senior Security and Risk Analyst at Zynga. "The summit has provided focus for all types of Keylight users, including managers, front-line users and administrators."

LockPath's next event, a free workshop called IT GRC by Design with GRC Pundit Michael Rasmussen, will be held in San Diego on Nov. 1.
