Cuomo’s Medicaid Ponzi Scheme
Under the guise of a Justice Center, billions are stolen as crimes and deaths of the disabled are covered-up
How Cuomo’s “Medicaid Ponzi Scheme” works is quite simple. To keep the free federal money flowing into New York State deception similar to how Bernie Madoff operated is critically important to be successful. Federal law requires State and federal funds to only go to programs that provide safe care and services that are free from abuse and neglect, free from financial exploitation and free from human rights violations. When many billions of dollars are not used for the billed for purposes, but instead to enrich politically connected people and entities, the severe damages, injuries, crimes, including criminally negligent deaths must systematically disappear. An appearance that everything is just fine and much safer must be portrayed to continue to receive the massive federal funding without doing anything significant to stop or prevent the rampant physical and sexual abuse or deaths occurring. It is very similar, but far more egregious, evil and criminal then Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi Scheme because innocent children and adults with disabilities that are being financially exploited are the worst victims.
The tragic end result of this Ponzi Scheme is the fact that many innocent children and adults with disabilities are being severely harmed or dying because massive amounts of money is being misappropriated. The Medicaid fraud must be stopped and the massive amounts of State and federal money must finally go to provide the best and safest care for our most vulnerable. There is a crisis in New York State and nothing whatsoever is being done to stop this fraud and the resulting horrors and premature deaths, like the tragic death of 13 year old Jonathan Carey. Jonathan was developmentally disabled and had autism when he was killed in New York State’s unsafe mental health care system http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/06/nyregion/boys-death-highlights-crisis-in-homes-for-disabled.html - http://www.nytimes.com/video/nyregion/100000000849083/a-failure-to-protect.html . Governor Cuomo and Attorney General Schneiderman are engaged in wide-scale discrimination in civil rights, criminal cover-ups and Medicaid fraud and have adamantly refused to stop this Ponzi Scheme or finally ensure safe care and services for 1,000,000 New Yorkers with disabilities. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/10/opinion/protecting-the-most-vulnerable.html
New York State’s mental health care system remains extremely dangerous and deadly five years after the award winning NY Times “Abused & Used” investigative reporting series which was a runner up for a Pulitzer Prize http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/nyregion/abused-and-used-series-page.html?_r=0 . These issues came to light so dramatic changes could occur not for NYS to hide and conceal thousands of crimes and deaths of our most vulnerable. Instead of moving to significantly reduce the rampant abuse, neglect and deaths of our disabled occurring throughout NYS, the Cuomo administration with the assistance of Attorney General Schneiderman have chosen to try to hide and conceal the severe damages as a direct result of the misappropriation of massive amounts of federal funds.
Federal law requires that State and federal funding only goes to programs that provide safe care that is free from abuse and neglect and freedom from financial exploitation, not to unqualified and unlicensed individuals and entities providing grossly inadequate and unsafe care and services. Our most vulnerable disabled can no longer be treated as unequal people and denied a safe living environment. New York State’s disastrous and deadly mental health care system must be reformed from top to bottom. All individuals responsible for and involved in this Medicaid Ponzi Scheme must be removed from employment, held fully accountable and prosecuted.
