Lufussa Delivered 200,000 Trees to the Honduran Government

/EINPresswire.com/ -- CHOLUTECA, HONDURAS--(Marketwired - October 04, 2016) - The company Lufussa officially delivered 200,000 trees to the Honduran Government in the eve of the inauguration of a garden center in the forest conservation institute ICF (Instituto de Conservación Forestal) installations in the town of Guaimaca, Francisco Morazan. The trees are the first of one million agreed to be given by Lufussa to the ICF under their "Vamos a Plantar" ("Let's plant") agreement; which, in turn, is part of the larger Honduran government objective to plan 5 million trees by the end of 2016 as part of its "Honduras Siembra Vida" ("Honduras Sows Life") program.

Lufussa and the ICF built the garden center, which already counts with 200,000 plants, within the property of the local forest protection office in the municipality of Guaimaca.

The garden center was inaugurated by Presidential Commissioner on Climate Change and Forests: Christa Castro; the ICF Director: Misael León, and the representative of Lufussa's executive board, Christopher Kafie.

The trees, which vary in species, will be planted in different areas including designated protected areas, basins and watersheds. The reforestation efforts will start on September 28th and end October 2nd with the final goal of planting 5 million trees in all of Honduras.

Christopher Kafie, Lufussa executive and son of its founder: Luis Kafie, said in his speech, "As a company, we are completely in favor of this reforestation campaign that is being driven by his excellence, the president of Honduras. Furthermore, we reiterate our full support, knowing full well the urgent need to rescue our country's forests which are crucial for the well-being of our communities since they provide, amongst many other benefits, the oxygen and water that we all need."

The garden center is part of the agreement :"Vamos a Plantar," between the ICF and Lufussa which has the objective to plan one million trees that will help restore many of the areas that have been affected by the Pine bark worm.

Lufussa is the first private sector company to join the reforestation initiative with the construction of this garden center that will prodice 1 million plants in the coming years.
