RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES, September 20, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- 'Artist Studio Project' (ASP) announced today that Ivan Granados Hay personal librarian to Nobel Laureate Gabriel García Marquéz will open the 2nd Annual El Quixote Festival in collaboration with the 30th Annual NC Latin American Film Festival.

For a decade (before García Márquez passing) Granados Hay worked hand and hand with Marquez not only taking care of the laureate's vast book collection, but also helping him with his articles, memories, and editorial projects.

Granados Hay is also a curator of documentary material of the Nobel Laureate as well as librarian for other important writers, such as Alvaro Mutis.
Presently, Granados Hay is preparing two editorial works (for Penguin Books) on short stories including some lost stories of García Márquez. Hay visits the Triangle directly from Mexico City and will participate in several workshops and events during his three day stay. To include a special luncheon with public, university and state librarians.

The El Quixote Festival "GABO" celebrates the 50th anniversary of the publication of One Hundred Years of Solitude, the master work of Nobel Laureate Gabriel García Marquéz (Gabo), and one of the top 10 books ever written. "We are so honored to have El Señor Granados Hay open our festival and to be collaborating once again with the North Carolina Latin American Film Festival and Miguel Rojas Sotelo as they celebrate their 30th season. About The El Quixote Festival: The Festival's initial intention is to celebrate the 400th anniversary and closing of Miguel De Cervantes Saavedra’s two books simply known now as "El Quijote", while placing a special emphasis on artistic creations in the Spanish language. Genres such as visual arts, literature, opera, music, dance, theater, film, gastronomy along with various academic events are programmed.
Additional goals are to broaden the artistic landscape in North Carolina, reach new and more diverse audiences and to build relationships, share knowledge, learn and build consensus. The collaborative festival runs from September 29, - April 23. The festival was created by Rafael A. Osuba who serves as its Artistic Director. The first annual festival season was launched on September 29, 2015 through April 23, 2016, with over 154 days of programming engaging more than 50,000 spectators with events in 10 cities across the state of North Carolina.
