EVERYONE is doing it. From top models and actors, to children and the 80 year old who lives down the street.

LA, CA - CALIFORNIA, USA, September 24, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- If you haven’t stepped into the new “selfie” craze, you’re behind the time, so it’s time to step up a notch and get photographing!
At Aotearoa Beauty, we’re not just talking about taking a photo of yourself … we’re talking about art. Taking a great selfie is art and you need to follow a few tips to ensure these close up photos of yourself don’t turn people off their food.
Here are some tips:
1. Know what your good side is. We all have a good side and a bad side – and the best part about selfies is that you are in control of the camera. Don’t like the way your nose points to the left, taking the photo from the right angle can make it look as straight as a ruler!

2. Choose the right angle. If you want to look slimmer, take the photo from above. If you want to look taller, hold the camera as low as you can.

3. Make sure the lighting around you is great. There’s nothing worse than seeing a selfie where you can barely see the subject as it’s too dark, or bright red eyes thanks to a flash. Stand near a window to allow natural light highlight your features.

4. If you don’t have great lighting, you can enhance the image by using a filter! If you’re posting on Instagram you can choose one of their filters. According to research, the Mayfair filter is the one people look at the most, so give it a try.

5. Get out your blackhead remover kit and your nose hair trimmer! If you’re going to be getting up close and personal with a camera, you want to be looking amazing!

And finally, have fun and don’t be too serious. Laugh, smile, shine. The best selfies are the most natural ones, so enjoy yourself.
