New member education landing page on Trump launches

This year more than even past election years, there is a lot of political noise flying around media, online and in the workplace that can easily confuse fact from wild rumor in the Presidential election. The UAW today launched a fact-based program for members with a landing page on uaw.org to help sort out facts about Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Like this one from an August interview with the Detroit News, “He said U.S. automakers could shift production away from Michigan to communities where autoworkers would make less. ‘You can go to different parts of the United States and then ultimately you’d do full-circle — you’ll come back to Michigan because those guys are going to want their jobs back even if it is less,’ Trump said. ‘We can do the rotation in the United States — it doesn’t have to be in Mexico.’

The landing page, with a few straight facts, can be found at uaw.org includes:

  • Ways for UAW members to sign up for election-related messages from the UAW via text message or email.
  • Quotes from Trump with comments that impact UAW members and their paychecks.
  • Videos featuring Trump’s own words. A video message from UAW President Dennis Williams
  • A comparison of the candidates on key issue like trade, manufacturing, labor rights and the middle class.

And yes, for those looking for Hillary facts – stay tuned.
