Big Boots and Winkler Films to Jointly Develop Sci-Fi Feature "Prison Earth"

David Winkler, Producer of Oscar Nominated Creed, Signs on to Co-Development and Production Deal for Newly Launched The Gnome Life


BEVERLY HILLS, CA--(Marketwired - August 31, 2016) - Big Boots Studios' President and Chief Content Officer Roger Mincheff and David Winkler of Winkler Films announced today they will jointly develop a graphic novel and feature film for digital platforms under the new fandom content shingle, The Gnome Life. Prison Earth is a sci-fi thriller based on the premise that aliens have been using earth for decades as a prison for some of their worst criminals. Prison Earth will be released as a graphic novel in Q1 2017 and production on the feature will begin in Q2, with Winkler producing.

David Winkler and Winkler Films have recently produced Creed, The Gambler and The Mechanic series.

The Gnome Life's content includes features, episodic series, games and content for Virtual Reality, as well as a fandom/geek culture site. The genre bending content spans horror, fantasy, wizardry, deals with the supernatural, conspiracy theories, rock and roll and martial arts. The Gnome Life content will initially be distributed across two platforms, a fandom/geek culture site, and a new YouTube channel, The Gnome Life. It will spread in scope across all media and platforms by early 2017. A casual gaming app for iOS called "The Gnome Life" is also in production as well as several Video Enhanced Graphic Novels (VEGNs).

Big Boots recently announced a 6-picture deal with Alqur Studios, a leading film fund and studio based in Mexico. The partnership kicks off with a co-production of State of Ward, about a corrupt undercover cop seeking redemption. The live action short film is shooting now in Los Angeles for a Q1 2017 release.
