This new device uses active and passive noise cancellation and has multiple modes unlike any other product available. The multiple modes are; Quiet Mode, Voice Mode and Sleep Mode. QUIET MODE is activated for when the user wants near total silence, SLEEP MODE masks noises while you sleep if you are easily awoken by snoring, and VOICE MODE can be used in a loud and noisy environment but still allows you to hear a person talking, like when traveling by airplane.

Tranquil's sleek and small design is constructed to fit snugly and comfortably behind the ear, appearing almost invisible to someone sitting next to you. A small cable runs from the part behind the ear and wraps around into your ear canal with a soft memory foam tip making it extremely comfortable to wear for extended period of time.

The Kickstarter campaign has a goal of $65,000 with roughly one month to go before it is finished. "If funding is successful, it will all go into finalizing the industrial design and production of Tranquil" said Tad Ell. Backers who pledge the early bird special can save up to 40% on the price.
