The New Media Film Festival began in 2009 with a strong slate of films from around the world. Since its inception, the festival has brought thousands of people together to view, discus, buy and sell content across a variety of traditional and new media formats. New Media Film Festival is stronger than ever, at a cross roads of excellence and embodying a potential future that could literally take the world by storm.

As Councilmember Paul Koretz stood at the podium, he shared with the audience, "I am thrilled to be here at an event, New Media Film Festival that celebrates and recognizes the best in new media with over 125 New Media Films and content from 37 countries, many of which are premiering at this festival. I could not think of a better city where this kind of artistic and cultural exchange could take place, other than Los Angeles. This festival brings the globe to Los Angeles and Los Angeles to the globe."

In attendance were an array of talent such as Golden Globe & Emmy Nominee Ed Begley Jr., Golden Globe Winner Sally Kirkland, and 5 time Emmy Winner Paul Wagner. As well as judges from SAG/AFTRA, The Grammys, The Oscars and many more organizations.


With films, trailers, shorts, digital comics and web series that highlight new advancements in technology, financing, and convergence media, each entry is a chance to think differently about the world today.
