Nationwide Cancer Art Tour in Utah on Saturday to Help Cancer Patients Through Healing Power of Art

PaintFest America will be in Utah at Intermountain Medical Center on Saturday.

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH , USA , July 29, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Cancer patients, survivors and families will join together on Saturday (tomorrow) at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray to celebrate the healing benefits of painting and art as part of a 50-day, nationwide tour known as PaintFest America.

Utah cancer survivors, patients, staff and families will paint 18 colorful panels for three large murals that will be placed in Intermountain Medical Center, which treats more cancer patients than any other hospital in the state. The murals feature different designs and offer a paint-by-numbers type approach, so people of all ages and skill levels can participate to celebrate their fight against cancer.

Additionally, a cancer patient and a cancer survivor will partner to paint a unique state-specific panel, which will include both the state bird and flower. That piece will be added to the 50-state mural “Stars of Hope” to be assembled in New York on the final day of the tour. The individual state panels will be returned to each participating hospital after the unveiling event on August 23.

Media Note: On-site interview opportunities will be available with patients and cancer survivors.

The Foundation for Hospital Art is hosting PaintFest America, which runs for 50-days (July 5 through August 23, 2016) in order to reach families, patients, and staff of cancer facilities in each state through artwork.
