Texan author illustrates God’s love for His children in Christian storybook series

Authors Jason Burkhardt and Sara Kendall share the depth of God’s love through an adventure-packed fictional storybook series for kids, “The BackYard Trio.”

"The children have loved and enjoyed the stories. In each situation the characters get into, you can see how much God loves His chosen people by the way He helps them get through it.”

WESTWORTH VILLAGE, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, July 23, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- WESTWORTH VILLAGE, Texas – Authors Jason Burkhardt and Sara Kendall share the depth of God’s love through an adventure-packed fictional storybook series for kids, “The BackYard Trio: Floats Their Boat.”

Two dogs and a cat take children on a journey through the Bible. EZ, Scooter, and Avra tell the stories of the lives of the characters and their situations in a fun and exciting way making it easier for the young children, as well as the older ones, to learn about the Bible.

“In 2002 we were watching our animals, EZ, Scooter and Avra, interact with each other. We had thought about what they were saying to each other, and the wheels came into motion. We both have taught about the Bible, Me to adults and Sara to children, and had an idea of writing children's Christian books using the animals. Because the Bible is long, we knew this would be a series of books. We did not actually put it in print until 2010 when we first used a self-publishing company,” Burkhardt shares when asked about the inspiration behind the juvenile fiction.

Amber Morrical, Acquisitions Editor for Tate Publishing has high hopes for the authors’ whimsical storybook, stating that, “We have had great responses from our readers. The children have loved the animals and have enjoyed the stories they tell. In each situation the characters get into, you can see how much God loves His chosen people by the way He helps them get through it.”

“In 2012 we were not happy with the self-publishing company we had chosen, and had started seeking out other publishing companies. After doing much research on publishing companies, mainly ones which dealt with Christian based books, we decided that we felt more led towards Tate,” Kendall shares.

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Burkhardt was in the ministry at The Christian Homes at El Paso, Texas in 1986 where he taught and preached the Word, as well as Baptized people and directed the Greentree Christian Fellowship Church and 3rd Step Feeding Center. In 1990 he became the Administrator of the Van Horn, Texas Community Christian Shelter. In early 1992 Burkhardt met Kendall at the shelter, and later that year the two of them had left Van Horn to begin their lives with Christ in North Carolina, where God had used them in various churches.

Kendall taught Children's Bible Classes, ages 5-8, in different churches, and had also held a part-time position as a Church Secretary for the United Methodist Church in Alpine, Texas in 1990. In 1992 she volunteered to help with the ministry in Van Horn, Texas where she met Burkhardt.

Once they were joined together by God, they continued their services in any and every way He had placed on their lives. They had volunteered in ministries, churches, and in their construction company, Crazy Christian Construction.

The Lord inspired them to write “The BackYard Trio Series” in 2002 but did not put their efforts into it until Burkhardt fell ill and could not work in 2010. Burkhardt volunteers his time for others, donates freely to the community, and above all, follows a strict moral code providing the example that even when bad things happen in real life, doing the right things really are always better, even if they are sometimes harder.
