Alexander Astanin put in charge of Gazprom Transgaz Makhachkala
Alexander Astanin has been appointed Director General of Gazprom Transgaz Makhachkala.
Alexander Astanin was born in September 1967 in the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1991, he graduated from Millionshchikov Grozny State Petroleum Institute, majoring in Oil and Gas Well Drilling. In 2011, he received a degree in Design, Construction and Operation of Gas and Oil Pipelines and Storage Facilities from North Caucasus State Technical University. He also has an MBA degree.
Alexander Astanin has been part of Gazprom's team for 25 years.
Between 1991 and 1999, he rose through the ranks from fifth-level Well Driller Assistant to Deputy Head of the Central Engineering & Technical Service of the Stavropol Directorate for Drilling and Maintenance at a subsidiary of Kavkaztransgaz.
1999–2008: Lead Engineer, Deputy Head, Head of Technical Department at Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol.
2008–2016: Deputy Director General for Production, Head Engineer, First Deputy Director General at Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol.
Background
Gazprom Transgaz Makhachkala is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom. It delivers gas to consumers in the Republic of Dagestan and other regions of the North Caucasus Federal District.
