The GDPR introduces administrative fines that will be “effective, proportionate and dissuasive” – up to 4% of the total worldwide annual turnover or €20 million, whichever is higher. By 25 May 2018, organisations collecting and processing EU residents' data will be required to make significant changes to policies, processes and contracts in order to meet the requirements of the GDPR.
