Number of regions partnering with Gazprom on import substitution reaches 21
Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and the heads of the Tomsk, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk Regions today signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2016 the Roadmaps for the wider use of high-tech products, including import substituting ones, in the Company's interest. The Roadmaps for the Tyumen and Chelyabinsk Regions were signed for the first time, while the document for the Tomsk Region was renewed for a triennial period.
In accordance with the Roadmaps, regional companies and organizations prepare proposals on the use of their developments at Gazprom's facilities. The Company then reviews the developments for compliance with its corporate requirements and audits them to test their readiness for mass production and deployment. After that, they are included into the register of equipment, materials, and technologies approved for use in Gazprom's projects. Later, equipment manufacturers take part in the Company's bidding process for products and services.
Roadmaps are an important and efficient tool in Gazprom's systematic efforts for import substitution. They give a powerful impetus to the development of regional research and industrial organizations and help the Company obtain competitive high-tech products at reasonable prices.
Gazprom adopted the practice of developing Roadmaps in 2013. The first document of this kind was signed with the Tomsk Region. By now, the number of regions that choose this format of cooperation with Gazprom has reached 21.
The implementation of the pilot Roadmap led to a significant increase in the amount of products and services provided to Gazprom by the Tomsk Region's companies. Between 2013 and 2015, the monetary value of those products and services grew more than seven times – from RUB 0.83 billion to RUB 6.2 billion – versus the 2009–2012 period. This year's procurements are expected to total RUB 3 billion.
The equipment produced in the Tomsk Region is widely used in Gazprom's strategic projects in eastern Russia, namely in the pre-development of the Chayandinskoye field and the construction of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.

Gazprom signed the Roadmaps for the wider use of technologies, products, and services provided by R&D entities with the Republics of Bashkortostan, Mordovia and Tatarstan; the Perm Territory; the Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Tomsk, Tyumen, Vladimir and Voronezh Regions; the city of St. Petersburg; the North Caucasus Federal District of the Russian Federation; and the Republic of Belarus.
