Sons of the American Revolution chapter to host film CAMERON

Docudrama of the Cherokee War of 1776 to be presented June 18

CHEROKEE, N.C., U.S.A., May 31, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- On June 18, 2016, in Waynesville, N.C., the Western Waters Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) will host a screening of CAMERON, a docudrama portraying the tale of British Indian agent Alexander Cameron, starring David Reed, Barrett Doyle, Michael Easler, and Jon Proudstar. The screening will take place at 2 pm at the Strand Theater on Main Street.

The American Revolution changes Cameron’s world, and in the blink of an eye, he’s on the run from pursuing patriot militia. The Cherokee warrior Dragging Canoe holds fast to his alliance with Cameron, while fighting for his own nation’s freedom. Together, these blood brothers confront the advancing forces that swept through the American colonies.

Based on the book A DEMAND OF BLOOD: THE CHEROKEE WAR OF 1776, author turned filmmaker Nadia Dean says, “Americans were not taught the rich Revolutionary War history of the south, or that the Cherokees began their own war for freedom. The film portrays a loyalist’s point of view, which is rarely seen."

The SAR is a historical, educational, and patriotic, non-profit corporation that seeks to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom and an appreciation for true patriotism. The Western Waters SAR Chapter was founded by N.C. State Representative Joe Sam Queen.

Writer/Director Nadia Dean will present her 37-minute docudrama and says, “Audiences will be intrigued by this story that reveals hidden truths of a frontier war that became a defining moment in American history.”
