Gazprom Neft G-Drive sponsors 2016 Men’s World Ice Hockey Championships

Commencing on 6 May, 2016 (and involving 16 of the most important teams in the world) this year’s 80th anniversary Men’s World Ice Hockey Championships are being held in Moscow in partnership with the Gazprom Neft G-Drive premium fuels brand (the key brand of the Gazprom Neft filling station network).

The fans’ area of the Moscow Ice Palace will feature a stand promoting Gazprom Neft’s key auto-sports project — the G-Drive Racing Team, winners of the FIA World Endurance Championships (LMP2 class) in 2015. As well as being able to participate in an interactive game, fans will be able to see the team’s racing car, used in the Championships and supported by Gazprom Neft G-Drive fuels.

Alexander Krylov, Regional Sales Director, Gazprom Neft, commented: “It’s no secret that ice hockey is the number-one sport in Russia. The G-Drive brand embodies the key sporting values of determination, power, and the will to win. We will be actively promoting the World Hockey Championships in all of those regions in which we operate, and hope our clients will be able to catch matches featuring the best players in the world.”

A promotion across the Gazprom Neft filling station network in April 2016 — “Supporting Our Own” offered fans the opportunity to win tickets to the Championships.

New-generation G-Drive fuels are sold throughout the Gazprom Neft filling station network. The key advantage of these premium fuels, which contain an active complex of additives, include increased engine capacity (of up to 12 percent), better acceleration (of up to 1.8 seconds), and professional protection for engine fuel systems.

The Gazprom Neft filling station network totals approximately 1,400 filling stations throughout Russia and the CIS. The network’s extensive geographic range, coupled with the highly advantageous location of the company’s Omsk, Moscow and Yaroslavl refineries, continue to ensure Gazprom Neft’s leading position in the wholesale and retail markets of western Siberia and central Russia.
