Guests cut the ribbon for Hakka Pavilion

For this show, the Hakka Affairs Council has rigorously selected 30 premium-quality Hakka specialty products that possess both originality and practicality, based on this exhibition's distinctive characteristics, the products' cultural representativeness, production capacity, and international-order capability. Among the diversity of fine gift ideas are blue-dye accessories and premium metalwork jewelry that show off exquisite Hakka craftsmanship, oil-paper umbrellas and lacquerware that show off delicate traditional workmanship, Hakka woven-bamboo basket/cup/plate/tray gift sets, and all-natural, non-harmful hand-crafted soap gift sets. In addition to their fine production quality, each embodies the rich Hakka traditional cultural spirit and their stories, and five of the selections are creations designed and made by young entrepreneurs. These products are masterly fusions of Hakka cultural elements, expressing culture and innovation brought together in uniquely dynamic stimulation, and at the same time symbols of Hakka industry's gradual movement toward greater youthful vision and vigor as well as internationalization.

The design focus used for the Hakka Pavilion at HKTDC 2016 are traditional Hakka red rice cake visual elements integrated with Hakka cultural imagery and totems. This represents the joy felt at being able to bring the festive fun and color of Hakka specialty products to the Hong Kong market. In addition, in the spirit of Hakka hospitality and to encourage buyers to engage in discussions, "tea hospitality" is being served up at the pavilion, with oriental beauty tea and traditional Hakka confections offered. Interaction with on-site buyers is also being encouraged by inviting them to play a fun "drawing lots" game. As well, to fully explain the Hakka TAIWAN brand's rich cultural connotations and value, on April 27 the Hakka Affairs Council specially participated in a product promotion and announcement gathering, inviting professional buyers to visit, using the opportunity for face-to-face interaction to demonstrate and introduce its lineup of specialty Hakka merchandise, giving the buyers clear understanding of the cultural meaning behind the Hakka TAIWAN brand name and enhancing promotion effectiveness.

Building on its existing foundation, in the future the Hakka Affairs Council will actively participate in international exhibitions of all types, using these platforms of exchange to spotlight the Hakka Taiwan brand on the world stage, creating greater value and more business opportunities for Taiwan Hakka specialty products, and creating unprecedented new visibility for the Taiwan HAKKA brand.
