National Payment Innovation Summit Set to Begin on Feb. 10

/EINPresswire.com/ -- WESTCHESTER, IL--(Marketwired - February 04, 2016) - The National Payment Innovation Summit, the leading forum on innovative healthcare payment models, is scheduled for February 10-12, 2016, in Memphis, Tenn. Topics will include evolving ACO models, episode-based initiatives, and Medicare's proposed Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Program. The conference is a joint partnership between the Health Care Incentives Improvement Institute (HCI3) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and is supported by the Catalyst for Payment Reform. In addition to the 200 people expected on site, others are choosing to register for virtual attendance, which enables individuals to view the live-streamed keynote sessions in real time and access other sessions on demand after the conference ends.

"Hospitals, physicians, and health plans should work together to shape payment models that deliver more value to patients and other care purchasers," said HFMA President and CEO Joseph J. Fifer, FHFMA, CPA. "As payment model experiments continue, it's vital for all parties involved to share successes and lessons learned, which is what this conference is designed to do."

Keynote speakers at the Payment Summit include David Krueger, M.D., Executive Director and Medical Director, Bellin-ThedaCare Healthcare Partners; Robert Galvin, M.D., CEO of Equity Healthcare and Operating Partner, Blackstone; Darin Gordon, Director, TennCare and Deputy Commissioner, Health Care Finance and Administration, State of Tennessee; and Lambert van der Walde, Executive Director, Center for Health Reform & Modernization at UnitedHealth Group. In addition, more than two dozen breakout sessions in four tracks will be presented.

"We need to design payment models around the defined needs of patients, focusing on the functions of the delivery system that are required to meet those needs," said HCI3 Executive Director Francois de Brantes, MS, MBA. "Once that is accomplished, the delivery system will reshape itself."

Attendees include healthcare CEOs and CFOs, medical directors, quality improvement executives, health plan representatives, and physicians and physician organizations as well as managed care executives and contracting experts.
