Shingles May Lead to Inflammation of the Pancreas; The CBCD Reviews the Medical Evidence

“Although generally non-lethal, VZV infection can be associated with serious complications, particularly in adults.” (1)

Acute pancreatitis should be considered in VZV patients who complain of abdominal pain, especially in the epigastric area.

ROCHESTER, NY, UNITED STATES, November 29, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ --

Ever had chickenpox? The CBCD recommends Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR against the latent varicella zoster virus, which can cause chickenpox and shingles.

The varicella zoster virus (VZV) is a herpes virus that normally causes chickenpox in childhood. A study found that individuals diagnosed with a case of herpes zoster, also known as shingles, may be at increased risk for developing pancreatitis. “Pancreatitis is inflammation in the pancreas. The pancreas is a long, flat gland that sits tucked behind the stomach in the upper abdomen. The pancreas produces enzymes that assist digestion and hormones that help regulate the way your body processes sugar (glucose).” (2) As Dr. Wang and colleagues wrote, pancreatitis together with shingles is usually seen in patients with a compromised immune system. (1) However, it can also develop in those with a healthy immune system. “Acute pancreatitis should be considered in VZV patients who complain of abdominal pain, especially in the epigastric area.” (1)

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) recommends that individuals concerned about the VZV in its latent form, take Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin. The formula of these natural antivirals was designed to help the immune system target latent viruses, and was shown to reduce symptoms associated with herpes viruses in two separate post-marketing clinical studies.

The formula of these natural antiviral products was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin formula is effective against herpes viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with (herpes viruses) … reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (2) The study authors also wrote that, “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (2)

Both products can be ordered online on the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR websites here:

Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.

Note: Novirin has the same formula as Gene-Eden-VIR. However, it contains higher quality and more expensive ingredients.

When acute pancreatitis develops, it causes the following symptoms: upper abdominal pain, abdominal pain that radiates to your back, abdominal pain that feels worse after eating, nausea, vomiting, tenderness when touching the abdomen. (4) In terms of shingles, before the rash develops, people often have pain, itching, or tingling in the area where the rash will develop. This may happen anywhere from 1 to 5 days before the rash appears.” (5)

Are there treatments currently on the market, which target the Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV)?

Yes there are.

Antiviral drugs, such as Zovirax or Valtrex are designed to fight the shingles virus. However, these medications, when effective, only work to shorten the time of the shingles outbreak. They are ineffective against the latent VZV virus. (5)

The CBCD reminds the public that Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are not a cure for conditions caused by the Varicella Zoster Virus. However, their formula was designed to help the immune system target the latent shingles virus.
