“I have this 1979 study Bible which I bought through the inspiration of my friend and mentor. It had such great sentimental value for me but was already worn out. Instinctively, I decided to save its structure before completely discontinuing its use. I didn’t really know if it could be done, but eventually, I began typing and started with the New Testament. After about a year, I finished off at Leviticus through Malachi and with the inspiration of my daughter and my son-in-law, I decided to have it published through a Christian publisher – and that’s when Tate came in!”

Lydia has faithfully served in churches throughout her lifetime as a musician, teacher Sunday School teacher, and in Baptist Training Unions in Houston. She is a faithful tithing member of the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church and participates in numerous ministries. Lydia completed her Master’s Degree in Education in 1992 and was a teacher at Houston Independent School District for over 22 years.

Lydia has a daughter and three grandchildren. She currently resides in Missouri City, Texas and enjoys music, decorating, travelling, and entertainment with her family.
