The Film BOND:KIZUNA Seeks Justice When the Law Fails

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, September 22, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Pacific Ocean isn’t wide enough to keep the Yakuza clans from expanding their power into Los Angeles, California. The members of the Yakuza, Japan’s organized crime syndicates, are ruthless and ambitious. The families of their victims fear the Yakuza, with good reason, but they don’t know where to turn. However, they are not without support; BOND:KIZUNA is poised to defend. Are you hooked yet? This isn’t a news headline, it’s a film by the IKI Company, and now a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign that promises to win audiences who love action movies and relish watching a battle between the forces of good and evil. With crowdfunding support, the IKI Company hopes to raise $7500 by October 12.

The story begins with the murder of a Yazuka clan’s godfather whose daughter follows the killer to Los Angeles to seek revenge. When a rookie detective is almost killed after she witnesses one of the killings taking place, she is sworn to secrecy long as she doesn’t reveal the avenger’s identity. But when her best friend is murdered by the , she hires the team of BOND:KIZUNA then she joins to them.
Kizuna means bond in Japanese. The film delves into the bonds that connect each life and the obligations that the living have to the dead. The film probes the complications that arise when justice is called for, but the law can’t or won’t respond. Denied due process, a loved one has been murdered, but the killer is going to get away with the crime. That is, until BOND:KIZUNA, a group of local restaurant employees whose previous resumes include stints as professional killers, decides that it’s time to come to their neighbors’ aid by avenging the victims of gang warfare and the accompanying shakedown that threatens the local businesses. One by one, the expert assassins are exterminating the criminals who’ve managed to skip through the cracks in the judicial system.

Working with an international cast on an action film is an intricate process. Coordinating schedules and flights, working with various assistants, and dealing with different languages requires flexibility. There’s also the issue of maintaining safety on the set; action films take a considerable amount of orchestrating in order for the stunts to come off without harm. The film’s director and producers are well aware of these considerations. Fortunately, they have the background to make it all work.

The cast and crew bring years of experience to this project. Director/Producer/Writer Ryuji Yamakita lived in Osaka, Japan until he moved to the United States, where he obtained his degree in theatre arts from California State University. Upon returning to Tokyo, he worked in film, television, and theatre, as well as founding a theatre company, The Tokyo Pichi Pichi Boys, which produced over 20 different plays (total 200 shows), many of them written and directed by Yamakita. He returned to the United States and founded the IKI Company in 2010.

Producers Ivory Broome and Alice Aoki, both New Yorkers, bring a strong business background to their entertainment portfolio. Broome’s initial goal was to become a successful businessman, modeling his commercial drive upon his parents’ entrepreneurial success, which saw a grocery store business develop into a chain of stores. But acting won out for Broome as, Screen Actors Guild card in hand, he gained experience in filmmaking and producing online entertainment. In 2010, he began producing films. Alice Aoki’s family owned a franchise restaurant chain, from which she learned a great deal about business management. Since graduating from the New York University Tisch School of Arts, she has worked in the entertainment industry and has been mentored by A-list names in the field, included the president of Warner Brothers and the Aaron Spelling family.

A film about the bond between victims and rescuers, between violence and revenge, BOND:KIZUNA is hoping to build a bond with the crowdfunding community to bring the film to the audience that will enjoy it.
