Hear from the Royal Air Force UK (RAF) at Airborne ISR 2015 Conference

The two day event will allow attendees to hear an insider up-date on NATO's overarching and influential programmes, such as the Allied Ground Surveillance (AGS) programme and the Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AWACS) as well as have the opportunity to hear from and bench mark against strategic partners, an account of their independent efforts to develop and enhance their airborne ISR capabilities.

This year’s event will enable attendees to hear two key presentations from the Royal Air Force UK (RAF) taking place on day one of the conference alongside a panel discussion by the RAF on day two:

Squadron Leader Rob Farrant, Sentinel Requirements Manager, Air Command Capability Branch, Royal Air Force will discuss Maintaining an Effective Ground Surveillance Capability, the Current and Future Prospects of the UKs Sentinel Programme. The presentation will focus on:

• Requirements for the maintenance and improvement of the Sentinel programme
• A report of its operational successes in Afghanistan Libya, Mali. The lessons learned
• Sentinels future place within the RAF’s ISR capability

Squadron Leader Steve Knight, 54 Squadron, Officer Commanding Rivet Joint, Royal Air Force will discuss The Future of Airborne ISR Training. The presentation will focus on:

• The UK’s approach to Airborne ISR Training
• The potential to cut operational costs within this area
• Future plans for the UK’s ISR training programmes

In addition, the RAF will be providing a Panel Discussion on Preparing Todays ISR Operators for the Challenges of Tomorrow. The panel will examine:

• The need for greater training processes
• How will training change as technology develops even further
• How operation variation will drive a multi-spectrum training requirement for modern defence forces
